We are looking forward to hosting you in Schaumburg, Illinois on October, 6, 7, & 8 for the 2023 Illinois State AFG Convention – Unity, Hope, Serenity…Steps Taken Together Lead Us to Recovery.

Conference Registration Desk

On Friday the 6th, the Registration Desk for the convention will be ready for you to sign in by 3:00 p.m. Room check-in for the hotel is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m.

Friday

The program committee is planning on break-out meetings starting at 4:00 p.m. The Kick-Off event will begin at 7:00 p.m. There will be additional meetings available after the Kick-Off. After the announcements and welcome, we will introduce our two featured speakers, one from Al-Anon and one from AA. There will be additional meetings available after the Kick-Off.

Saturday

Individual meetings will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a panel session in the afternoon. The evening will be filled with the banquet at 6:00 p.m. with raffles, countdowns, and our featured speakers. Entertainment will follow the main speaker with another great opportunity to practice our “Steps Taken Together”!!

Sunday

We will wrap things up with a few break-out meetings on Sunday morning and our featured spiritual speaker at 10:00 a.m.

Convention Fundraisers

Along with our on-site convention fundraisers, we will also be hosting a pre-convention Dinner Fundraiser on April 15 featuring speakers Jim H. (AA) and Colleen H. (Al-Anon), and a pre-convention Shirt Fundraiser.

Banquet Reservations

The Hyatt Regency has requested a banquet count no later than September 23rd. Banquet seating is limited so please register early. Seating is reserved on a first-come first-serve basis.

Hotel Reservations

The Hyatt Regency is holding a block of rooms for the convention at a discounted rate of $129 per night, until September 15th. When making your reservation, please mention you are part of the AFG Convention. The hotel reservation number is 888-421-1442.

If you are planning to attend, please book your room reservation and complete your convention registration as soon as possible. The number of rooms reserved impacts our preparations for this event.

Convention Amenities

An archive space for historical information and a literature room will be provided. Our Hospitality room will also be playing videos of the movies “Lois W. & The Pioneers” and “Lois’s Story”.

The Convention Committee members have done a lot of work and had a lot of fun putting together a live, in-person Convention that will leave you feeling fulfilled, knowing you are not alone in this journey to recovery. We hope to see you there as we celebrate Unity, Hope, Serenity…Steps Taken Together Lead Us To Recovery!
